Kids on Grace Avenue
Saturday Evening Worship
On Saturday evening, we like children to worship with their families. However, we also want to provide a time of learning for them that focuses on the Scripture read in worship. With this in mind, we invite children to come forward following the reading of the Scripture and go for a time of learning with Ms. Kristen. The children will return during the time of offering to share in the final song with their families.
Sundays at 8:45, 9:50 & 11:00 am
Children 4 years old through 5th grade have the opportunity to attend B.I.G. Time on Sunday mornings at 8:45, 9:50 or 11:00. Join us as we Believe In God though games, crafts, Bible study and fun. Children meet with kids their own age as they learn about a life with Christ and the love of God. You won’t want to miss B.I.G. Time!! If you are willing to help, please call Kristen Lane at 972-335-2882, extension 508.
Children involved in Worship
Nursery - We have six Nursery Rooms on Sunday mornings and three on Saturday evenings. Our rooms are staffed with paid nursery workers to help provide the children with a familiar face each week. Volunteers add extra loving care during the worship services as needed. Our goal is to share God’s love with your children as they play in a safe, loving environment. Our two older groups have a different lesson during both Learning Hours on Sunday mornings. Snacks are provided during time spent in the nursery unless otherwise specified. Please make us aware of any allergies or special issues your child may have. We hope your child enjoys spending time at Grace Avenue. If you have any questions, or would like to volunteer to help in the nursery please contact Dana Boone at 972- 838-6864 or Kristen Lane at 972-335-2882, extension 508.
Children’s Worship Bulletins
We want children to participate in our worship services! To help your children share in the Scripture, Children’s Worship Bulletins and crayons are available at the back of the Worship Center.
Children Greeters/Ushers
One way to help your child get involved in the leadership of worship is for you to volunteer to be a greeter or usher on Saturday night or Sunday mornings. Your child can then assist you with these responsibilities. It is a great way for them to learn service as they grow in their understanding about being a disciple of Jesus Christ.
Children and Music
We have musical experiences for children ages 3 through 5th grade. Merry Music Makers have fun singing and playing instruments. Children’s choirs are Kindergarten, 1st–2nd grades, 3rd–5th grades. They all meet on Sundays from 4:00-5:00 pm in the Learning Center beginning in the fall. The three older Children’s Choirs offer special music during worship once a month and a musical at least twice a year.
EDGE
EDGE is a 4th– 5th grade fellowship group that generally meets the 2nd Sunday of every month from 5:00–6:30. We gather together to play games, have themed events, and get to know each other better. Come and have a BLAST at EDGE!
Lenten and Advent Adventure
Children 4 years old-5th grades are invited to attend a 3 week mid-week adventure during the Lenten and Advent seasons that focuses on the true meaning of Easter and Christmas. The children will share in snacks, singing, games and crafts. Watch for more details.
4th – 5th grade BOOK CLUB!!!
All 4th – 5th graders are invited to sign up to participate in our Grace Avenue Bookworms (GAB) Club! We gather together the third Saturday of each month under the leadership of Carol Dirks to talk about and discuss a book as a group! The book club meets from 10:00 – 11:00 in the 4th – 5th grade room (room 218). Contact Ms. Kristen 972-335-2882 ext. 508 to let her know you will be coming.
