Super Bowl Sub Sandwiches:  Support both the 2010 Czech Republic Mission Team as well as a Youth Team from the Czech Republic coming to Grace Avenue by ordering delicious ham or turkey sub sandwiches or a chef salad. $8 sack lunch includes chips, drink & cookie. Sandwiches will be made fresh on Saturday, February 6 and ready for pick-up from 11:00-noon or can be picked up after services on February 6 & 7 in time for the Super Bowl game.

The Youth of Grace Avenue:  It’s Super Bowl Sunday!  On Sun, Feb 7, we will have Superbowling at Strikz for Jr. High from 4:00-5:30 pm.  Parents are asked to drop off and pick up youth at Strikz.  Cost is $10. The Sr. High will have a Super Bowl party at the church beginning at 5:00 pm. Scripture at Starbucks for Sr. High on Tuesday at 4:30 pm and on Wednesday at 4:30 pm for Jr. High followed by Homework and Hang-out Time for all youth from 5:00-8:00pm.  For more info, contact clint@graceavenue.org.

Scouting Weekend:  All Boy and Girl Scouts are encouraged to wear their uniforms to worship the weekend of February 13-14 in celebration of Scouting.  We will have a time of special recognition during each of the worship services.

Grief Support Group:  Grace Avenue will be offering a 4-week Grief Support Group for persons who have lost loved ones during this past year. Thursday evenings from 7:00-8:30pm beginning February 18.  share group for children K-5th grades at the same time.  Childcare will be available for infants – 5th grade. CHILI COOK-OFF:  Join us for some friendly competition on Sunday, February 21 from 5:00-7:00pm for Chili Cook-off. Tickets are $5 a person with a $20 family max. If you enter your chili in the cook-off, you eat free!  (Only one free ticket per entry)  Hotdogs, drinks, and crackers provided.  The NERFS will be playing throughout the event.  Sign up today in the Black Folders to buy a ticket or enter chili.  All proceeds will go to the United Methodist Committee on Relief for Haiti.

Softball Teams:  Sign up for men's and co-ed recreation softball at Grace Avenue. All games are played at Shawnee Trail Sports Complex with Men's on Monday night and Co-ed on Friday night. Spring Dinner Groups are now forming! Each group has 8-12 people and meets once a month from February through June at a restaurant or someone’s home for appetizers, dessert or dinner.

2010 Worship Center Flower Arrangements:  If you are interested in giving a flower arrangement in honor or memory of someone, or for a special event you are celebrating in 2010, contact Kimbi at kimberlyw@graceavenue.org to learn of available dates. Cost for arrangement is $60.00. Checks can be made to Grace Avenue UMC, with “flowers” in the memo. Flowers can be taken home after the 11:00 am worship service.
