We invite you to join us for our inaugural year of Traveling Hearts which offers opportunities for Senior Adults to journey together to engaging places through day and overnight trips. We will visit museums, historic places, gardens, and performing arts events. It is very important that you register as far in advance as possible for these trips. We need to meet minimum numbers to provide bus transportation and obtain discount tickets. All are invited to participate, so please spread the word throughout the community. A Modern Vision: European Masterworks from The Phillips Collection (REGISTER)

The Phillips Collection of Washington, D.C. holds one of the greatest collections of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings in the world. This exhibit at the Kimbell Art Museum will feature works from that museum’s collection by artists including Courbet, Corot, Daumier, Delacroix, Cézanne, Degas, Gauguin, Van Gogh, Manet, Monet, Redon and Sisley, Bonnard, Kandinsky, Matisse, Morandi and Picasso. Many of these works have not traveled together in more than 20 years. The cost includes bus transportation and exhibit admission. Lunch is not included.


Brazos Journey Tour (REGISTER)
Thursday and Friday, Sept 28th-29th | Cost is $204 | Register by Aug 1st

Join us as we take a journey to historic sites along or near the Brazos River. Our first stop will be the Mayborn Museum at Baylor University in Waco. We will enjoy natural and cultural history exhibits like the Waco Mammoths. Then, we will visit Washington on the Brazos where the Republic of Texas declared its independence in 1836. Staff will provide a guided tour of the hall and the Star of the Republic Museum. The next morning, we will take an exciting tour of the famous Painted Churches of Schulenburg. These churches have elaborately hand-painted interiors. Lodging on Thursday night is at the Best Western in Schulenburg. Departure Thursday at 8:15am, Return Friday 6:45pm. Cost includes transportation, double occupancy lodging, 3 meals, and admission.
Dinner Thursday and Lunch Friday not included.


Meadows Museum: Jacob and His Twelve Sons (REGISTER)
Bridwell Library: Martin Luther/Letters of John Wesley
Wednesday, Oct 18th | 9:30am-3:00pm | Cost is $35 | Register by Oct 1st

We will tour the Meadows Museum at Southern Methodist University including a special exhibit of paintings of Jacob’s twelve sons by Francisco de Zurbarán. These life-size paintings were created in the 1640s and have been housed at Auckland Castle in England since 1756. This is the first time they will be presented in America.
Next, we will visit the rare document archives of the Bridwell Library at SMU where we will view some of the original letters of John Wesley. We will also view a special exhibit on Martin Luther and the Protestant Reformation. Cost includes bus transportation and exhibit admission. Lunch at La Madeleine not included


Christmas Carol at Wyly Theatre in the Dallas Arts District (REGISTER)
Saturday, Nov 25th | 2:00pm | Estimated Cost is $65 | Register by Oct 20th

Join us for an extraordinary holiday production of A Christmas Carol. In this delightfully re-imagined take on Dickens’ enduring classic the audience is surrounded by the actors, with magical ghosts flying above, scary ghosts bursting out of the floor, and snow falling on everyone. Full of traditional Christmas hymns and songs in fresh, toe-tapping musical arrangements, joyful bursts of choreography, and eye-popping special effects. The Wyly Theatre itself provides a unique modern experience. Cost includes bus transportation and admission.
