Mayfield Family – Joyfully Connected

Harper’s grandparents live out in the country so we visit often bringing them produce and sweet treats. We walk around their flower gardens and look for bugs, we bird watch, plant seeds and give great “air hugs”. Our visits have given us special, peaceful, yet still distanced, time with the grandparents without the added commotion of a big family event. The time with them has been very precious.

During this crazy quarantine, we hope we’ve spread joy by creating inspirational chalk messages on our sidewalk, joining several birthday parades, and creating a stained glass window for our neighborhood. We wanted to provide a visual reminder of hope and joy for our neighbors to wake up to on Easter.

As soon as the quarantine began, our family started looking for ways to help. I pulled my sewing machine out of the attic and went to work making reusable masks for people in the community. So far, I’ve made over 150 masks and donated them to doctors, nurses, grocery workers, delivery drivers, teachers, and pastors.

Socially Distanced…Joyfully Connected!
Thank you to everyone who donated groceries for our local community! You made it possible for us to deliver food and notes of encouragement to 17 homes that are experiencing food insecurity in the midst of our current crisis. This is an ongoing mission as we continue to be Socially Distanced…but Joyfully Connected!

The Bladon Family – Joyfully Connected

“At the beginning of Covid quarantine, an elderly couple had reached out to the church for some help with their huge yard, overgrown weeds, and a broken gate. We were happy to go, especially since our calendars were empty! Wanda came out and was so very thankful! She even made us some masks and bookmarks to show her appreciation! We’ve been back a couple times, and I look forward to her phone calls now!
She gave our contact to another friend from the senior center, and we’ll mow Danielle’s yard soon!”
