On Sunday, July 30th we will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on mission opportunities at Grace Avenue.  We will be participating in projects to support our local and international communities.  Join us for worship and then take the opportunity to offer something back by supporting our local teachers, donating blood or supporting our connection to the community in Juarez, Mexico.  Details listed below.

We will be making superhero Tootsie Pops that will be given to the teachers at Brent Elementary.  Brent Elementary teaches the children from the Preston on the Lake community that we have been serving this summer. We will also have the kids coloring paper fish to attach to packets of goldfish for the educators.

There will be one blanket at each worship space for everyone to tie a piece together and say a prayer for a family that will receive it.  The blankets are going to Operación Abrigo in Juarez, Mexico. 

GAUMC partners with other local United Methodist churches to send teams to build homes near Juarez, Mexico each year with Operación Abrigo. Each team is led by maistros who teach the team how to build the homes. The family often helps build the home alongside the team. At the end of the weekend, the team and family participate in a home dedication ceremony. Stay tuned for more information on our Operación Abrigo Mission Trip taking place in November!
