In Our Stories by Kim Eiffert

“…being in front of the congregation praising and worshiping through music…that changed my life.”

My wife Kristen is the Children’s minister at Grace Avenue and she had the opportunity to join as staff in July of 2006. We moved to the area and her job began…and there was me.

This is what brought me to Grace Avenue but after attending, it became much more than just my wife’s job. I began to explore the opportunities at Grace Avenue to get connected with the church but more so with Christ. I discovered the Saturday night band that played at the Saturday night service and after inquiring, was asked if I wanted to participate. Not having played the guitar for only a few months, I was leery but decided to go for it. The band was welcoming and, thankfully, patient with my playing. This helped me grow and receive Christ in a way that I had never experienced…being in front of the congregation praising and worshiping through music…that changed my life.

My hope for Grace Avenue is that we can continue to diversify and continue to offer many options for members and visitors to get connected and experience the same presence of Christ through that connection. This church offers so much for so many and the leadership truly cares about you and your relationship with Christ. I am glad and feel blessed to have been affected by that love and support.
