In Our Stories by Kim Eiffert

” I was a bit apprehensive because it seemed like a large church and I was worried we would be caught in the shuffle.”

I grew up in a very close-knit and small Presbyterian congregation where I was baptized, confirmed, and worshiped every Sunday until I moved away for college. When my wife, Ashley, and I began looking for a new church home, we tried a couple churches in the area. We were invited to Grace Avenue by a friend of Ashley’s from MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers). I was a bit apprehensive because it seemed like a large church and I was worried we would be caught in the shuffle. We attended a small group Sunday School and were welcomed right away. The fun atmosphere and inviting nature really made us feel welcome. In service, we were automatically drawn to Pastor Billy’s sermons, his message, and approachable attitude. He always greets us with a smile and a positive attitude. In fact, all of the staff does a great job of engaging visitors and members.

After about 9 months we decided to officially join the church. Ashley and I were excited and eager to become more involved at Grace Avenue. We have taught the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace class a few times. Ashley has taken on leadership roles with Vacation Bible School and we have hosted Invitation to Grace Avenue. Truly, being members at Grace Avenue and the Pathways Sunday School Class has fulfilled us in so many ways. It is definitely our Spiritual home. We look forward to helping Grace continue to grow and serve our community!
