“Come to me, all you that are weary and carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

Making Memories is a free “day out” program for those suffering with the early stages of dementia or Alzheimer’s. Caregivers are welcome to stay, but we exist to provide this time as a period of rest from the demands of care-giving. We have at least a 1:1 volunteer to participant ratio, creating a safe and loving environment. Activities during Making Memories aim to exercise the mind & body while boosting self esteem.

For more information about this program or to apply, please contact Lauren Pate at [email protected] or 713.557.0285.

Participants must provide their own sack lunch and must not require administering of medication while at Making Memories.

Availability is limited. Please contact Lauren Pate at [email protected] or 713.557.0258 to begin the admission process or to be placed on the wait list.

Making Memories at Grace Avenue welcomes all and is open to persons of all faiths.

All volunteers will be required to complete a background check and receive necessary training. We could not offer this program without the help of amazing volunteers.

If you are interested in helping, please contact Lauren Pate at 713-557-0285 or [email protected].
