Faith Handles with Billy Echols-Richter
Have you ever tried to carry your luggage without a handle?  It would be difficult and challenging.  It is the same with our lives.  It seems we are carrying around a lot of questions that often encumber and weigh us down.  Faith does not always give us the answers, but it gives us the handles to better navigate our way on the journey of life.

Faith Handles is a subscription-based video message (sent via email) in which Rev. Billy Echols-Ricther addresses questions of faith.  Subscribers will be invited to submit their own questions to the conversation and once a quarter Billy will host a hybrid in-person/Zoom gathering to address questions in real time.

Sitting in the Pieces: From Deconstruction to Reconstruction
Led by Laura Byrd | Thursdays at  7:00 pm
March 7  - 28 | Tom Graves Hall [Online Available]

Many people who grew up in evangelical and other religious spaces have begun to ‘deconstruct’ or pull apart the pieces of the belief system with harmful theologies in which they were raised. Deconstruction is a necessary part of many- if not most- spiritual journeys, but it was never intended to be the whole journey. This study walks us through a path of deconstruction into a place in which we can reconstruct a faith that leads us to a deeper version of faith and identity.

Compassionate Conversations: Finding Grace One Conversation at a Time
Led by Laura Byrd & Gabby Carr
Thursdays at 7:00 pm | April 4 - April 18
Just as Jesus engaged in debriefing conversations, we are called to engage with one another, even those that think very differently than us. How do we engage in dialogue with people who believe contrary to our values and show the love, compassion, and understanding of Christ? We believe through open and honest grace filled conversations we can glean wisdom from one another, deepen our relationship with Christ, and collectively grow in our faith. Come practice with us!

The Making of Biblical Womanhood:
How the Subjugation of Women Became Gospel Truth
Led by Laura Byrd
Thursdays at 7:00pm | April 25 -
May 9
Biblical womanhood--the belief that God designed women to be only submissive wives, virtuous mothers, and joyful homemakers--pervades North American Christianity. From choices about careers to roles in local churches to relationship dynamics, this belief shapes the everyday lives of many women. Yet biblical womanhood isn’t biblical, says Baylor University historian Beth Allison Barr. It arose from a series of clearly definable historical moments. Join us as we explore what it really means to be a woman of God.
