Same Kind of Different as Me
Women’s Night Out: Dinner & Conversation

Come join the women of Grace Avenue for a night of good food and conversation around the best-selling book and newly released movie Same Kind of Different as Me by Ron Hall & Denver Moore. We will talk about our differences, what we hold in common, our need for confession, forgiveness and grace. We will also focus on how we as a church and as individuals can live into our mission of “Eradicating Homelessness in Whatever Form it Presents Itself“.
This is a great night to invite a friend and join us!
Dinner will be catered by Salsa’s Tex Mex. Childcare is provided upon request.

Taking a Stand

500 years ago Martin Luther stood up for what he believed in and began the Protestant Reformation. Our Fall Confirmation Class will stand and profess their faith on Sunday, Nov 4. What are you willing to take a stand for today? What do you profess as a Christian today? In the Wilderness – The Book of Numbers

This study will focus on selected content from the Book of Numbers. The core of the book has little to do with math. It is about the Exodus journey of wandering in the wilderness. It prompts complex questions about our relationship with God and scripture. The class will be facilitated by Bill D. Ball, Jr. Please register in advance to receive the reading materials.

Sisters of Scripture – Finding I Am
6-week Study, Begins October 11
Wednesdays, 9:00am-Noon, Rm 219
We will use Lysa Terkeurst’s Finding I Am: How Jesus Fully Satisfies the Cry of Your Heart to explore Jesus’ I AM statements that are found in the Gospel of John. What is the deep cry of your heart? The ache in your soul that keeps you up at night? The prayer you keep repeating? We will explore Jesus’ presence in the midst of deep, spiritual wrestling. Participant books are $20.
The Rewritten Life: When God Changes Your Story

The Rewritten Life is a study developed by Jessica LaGrone that examines how our lives can be transformed through our relationship with God. It explores the transformed lives of persons like Abraham, Sarah, Jacob, Naomi, Daniel, and Peter. Their stories were rewritten giving them new names and identities. God wants us to rewrite our stories so that we may realize our fullest potential. Marian Schulze will lead this study. Participant books are $10. Register on-line or e-mail [email protected]. Rhythms of Grace Bible Study

We will discuss the book The Practice of the Presence of God by Brother Lawrence. For nearly 300 years this book has given both blessing and instruction to those who can be content with nothing less that knowing God and feeling God’s loving presence throughout each simple day.
