Sisters of Scripture – Finding I Am
6-week Study, Begins October 11
Wednesdays, 9:00am-Noon, Rm 219

We will use Lysa Terkeurst’s Finding I Am: How Jesus Fully Satisfies the Cry of Your Heart to explore Jesus’ I AM statements that are found in the Gospel of John. What is the deep cry of your heart? The ache in your soul that keeps you up at night? The prayer you keep repeating? We will explore Jesus’ presence in the midst of deep, spiritual wrestling. Participant books are $20.

Get to Know Your Bible

Young Adult/Young Professionals Study
Wednesdays from 6:30-8:00pm beginning Sept 6th
Join us for 4 weeks of conversation about reading, understanding, and using your Bible. We will explore in-depth connections of scripture and history as we expand on our worship focus of The Bible Toolkit. No prior Bible knowledge or expertise necessary. Also, no specific book but will have discussion between Rob Bell’s What is the Bible? And Adam Hamilton’s Making Sense of the Bible, among other videos and other resources (and of course, your own Bible). Taking the Bible Seriously

Many of the controversies in the Church today can trace their roots back to Biblical interpretation. What does it mean to take the Bible seriously? Does it mean you have to take it literally? Join Laura Echols-Richter for this 3-week discussion about the Bible and how can it be an essential tool for living a life of faith. We will use resources provided in the Atlas. Paul’s Letter to the Philippians

This 4-week study will explore Paul’s letter to the Philippians. Paul had a close and supportive relationship with this early Christian community. The class will be led by Bill D. Ball, Jr. who visited the city of Philippi in May. Please register in advance to receive the reading materials.


The Rewritten Life: When God Changes Your Story

Fridays 9:30-11:00am | 8-Week Study | Begins Sept 29th

The Rewritten Life is a study developed by Jessica LaGrone that examines how our lives can be transformed through our relationship with God. It explores the transformed lives of persons like Abraham, Sarah, Jacob, Naomi, Daniel, and Peter. Their stories were rewritten giving them new names and identities. God wants us to rewrite our stories so that we may realize our fullest potential. Marian Schulze will lead this study. Participant books are $10. Register on-line or e-mail [email protected]. In the Wilderness – The Book of Numbers

This study will focus on selected content from the Book of Numbers. The core of the book has little to do with math. It is about the Exodus journey of wandering in the wilderness. It prompts complex questions about our relationship with God and scripture. The class will be facilitated by Bill D. Ball, Jr. Please register in advance to receive the reading materials.

This class is for Heart Adult (55+) single women.

We will discuss the book The Practice of the Presence of God by Brother Lawrence. For nearly 300 years this book has given both blessing and instruction to those who can be content with nothing less that knowing God and feeling God’s loving presence throughout each simple day.
