Kairos Prison Ministry

The mission of the Kairos Prison Ministry is to bring Christ’s love and forgiveness to all incarcerated individuals, their families and those who work with them, and to assist in the transition of becoming a productive citizen. Volunteers are needed throughout the year to provide service, prayers, cookies, agape and/or financial support.

Your can get more information about the Kairos Prison Ministry here. Two particularly informational videos are “Kairos Cookies Save Lives” and “Kairos Changes Lives.” Kairos 4-day events at the Coffield Unit are each April and October with team meetings starting in March and September. We would love to have you join us on a team. Please contact Jim & Sue Miller at [email protected] or 817-488-7130 with questions.

Community Garden

Grace Avenue’s community garden promotes community involvement and provides fresh fruits and vegetables to our local food banks. The Community Garden behind the church has been mulched and has a number of raised beds and rows to be adopted by a group or an individual. Contact Mary Martin at [email protected] with questions.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

All adult men and women are welcome!  Join us in making prayer shawls, blankets, preemie items, hats, scarves and more for those going through a difficult time.  We support local hospitals, assisted living and nursing centers, homeless shelters, and veterans organizations as well as our own church members, visitors, and friends.  We crochet, knit, sew, tie fleece blankets, and crochet sleeping mats from plastic yarn (plarn) and would love to teach you some new skills if you’d like to learn.  We can provide the materials you might need to get started.  You’ll make new friends while helping others in our community!

Contact Lisa McDonald at [email protected] or 214.356.2950 for more information.
