PRISM is a group of adult Queer Christians and Allies associated with Grace Avenue United Methodist Church in Frisco, TX. We meet to study Scripture and spirituality from a queer, justice-focused perspective. We support and accompany each other through life and organize social activities in our area. Our community welcomes all queer adults and allies who love and advocate for LGBTQ+ rights. If you are looking to do life with other queer and affirming Christians, we would love to have you be part of our community full of love, justice, and rainbows!
PRISM promotes liberation through the lens of intersectionality. This means we believe in the worthiness of all marginalized groups in our society, including LGBTQIA+individuals, people of color, women, those with disabilities, migrants, and others on the margins of our culture. We strive for an affirming, inclusive church where these individuals are represented in leadership roles. Our efforts include social activism, celebrating queerness within the church, and outreach events for queer people in our community.
If you're interested in joining us in our mission to liberate all people, please email Pastor Laura Byrd at lbyrd@graceavenue.org. She would be delighted to meet you, learn about your spiritual journey, and grab a coffee or meal together.
